combining 2 holidays
Ok, I get it, everyone is jumping Christmas 2 week before Halloween. To a point, even get decorating in warmer weather. Bethlehem hit a new level on this one. The "Christmas City (in title only), what I call obscenely lack of Christmas City, had streets decorated / Santa ended parade. Seriously!!!! I can't figure out why they just didn't do the tree lighting that night? Conversation with someone: might have saved taxpayers some money.
Think about it: Old fat guy with white beard hanging out on main st. Very large crowd already there. Streets decorated. Retail / Hallmark Channel (no, I don't change channel for over 2 months) seriously jumping it. Light the fucking tree and get a jump on the entire country!!! Makes perfect sense. Unless you are a Lehigh Valley local... Trust me the city (small town) does everything possible to seriously downplay / fuck up the title "Christmas City.
Best part about the parade? Over 1 hour and I think half the Lehigh Valley was in it. It was very cool with a lot of great businesses / school bands / organizations / costumes. Bethlehem did an excellent job on one thing!
