review
Carly Moffa is an entity / almost indescribable presence on stage. Reviewing / experiencing previous performances, thought I knew what to expect, dead wrong. A major / serious surprise hinted about on social media showed everyone who she is offstage / behind the musician / performer.
Starting off solo / acoustic, band joining halfway through 1st song nice transition. Kicking in obscenely high energy, Carly took over every available inch of the stage. Starting off with her trademark high energy / unique lyrics, she suddenly did a 180. Changing pace and taking things to a more personal level. Giving everyone a glimpse to her off stage persona / who she really is. Her voice / tone / music changed with almost every song. Setting up a surprise she hinted about on social media.
Young performers from Broughal Middle School walked onto stage with their instructor. Carly not only worked with them on one song; she spent time at the school also learning from them. Biggest surprise: One song, Carly and her band were the backup for the performers. Seriously, how many times have you experienced / heard of this????
In case you were wondering young men and women from Broughal did an incredible job on stage. Taking over vocals / instruments, they had zero problems showing everyone what they were capable of. It takes a very high level of courage to get on a stage and perform.
Experiencing / reviewing Carly Moffa before, SteelStacks performance seriously wrote new rules for live music performances. Around the half-way point, Carly appeared to be more herself vs. stage / performer persona. Interview after show: Carly genuinely cares about communities / areas she performs in. She shows gratitude for everyone who experiences her performances. Staying later than most to get polaroids / meet everyone. Carly Moffa needs to be on your very short list of musicians / bands to experience more than one time. Like I said, she literally wrote new rules for live music performances. Rules a majority of musicians / bands need to learn.
