Chairman Williams Writes to DOE, EPA, and DOL Regarding Concerns Over New Proposed Rules
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX), Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business, penned follow up letters to the Department of Energy (DOE), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Department of Labor (DOL) reiterating requests to see all communications surrounding various rulemaking by each agency. Chairman Williams issued the following statement.
“Since President Biden was inaugurated, Main Street has been facing a regulatory onslaught,” said Chairman Williams. “This Committee is working hard to investigate executive overreach, but this Administration continues to impede Congressional oversight at every turn. I can assure our job creators, however, that we will not stop. We will continue to advocate for Main Street every day and ensure the Biden Administration is held accountable to the American taxpayer.”
These letters are part of the Committee’s investigation into how these agencies make decisions as it relates to the Regulatory Flexibility Act (RFA). The Committee has requested all communications relating to four separate DOE rules, six DOL/OSHA rules, and eight EPA rules. While the agencies have responded with letters of their own, they have failed to provide communications, thus impeding Congressional oversight.
