The Family square of downtown philadelphia
Located in the Olde City (historical section) of Philadelphia, Franklin Square is a family-oriented place. Love to stop by any time of year. With a carousel / miniature golf / fountain / food / beverages, you can't go wrong taking a break here, especially in warm weather!
A bench where you can learn about history and listen to stories provides an educational experience. Plus, events during the year add to the historical experience. July into August: You have to check out the Chinese Lantern Festival, even during the day!!!! New Year's Eve: early Square drop for the families. Which is timed with fireworks at Penn's Landing.
When you are in Philadelphia, make sure you stop by here. Every year something new is added / changed. One of the few things I still love from being a kid: miniature golf. Take your kids for 18 holes, course is a little more challenging than it looks. Scroll down for video review / photos / videos.
