Governor Parson Signs Executive Order 24-16 Closing State Offices at Noon on Christmas Eve

Picture
(JEFFERSON CITY, MO) – Today, Governor Mike Parson signed Executive Order 24-16 closing state offices at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
The statement that Governor Parson provided to all Missouri state team members is copied below:
"Today, we signed Executive Order 24-16 closing state offices on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at 12 p.m. As we prepare to leave office and spend more time with our own family and friends, we understand the importance and joy for all of you in doing the same during the Christmas Season. We know you've heard us say it before but family, friends, and the next generations are truly what it's all about.
With Christmas falling in the middle of the week this year, we hope that closing state offices early allows you an opportunity to spend a little more quality time with those closest to you as we celebrate the holiday.
Additionally, as this may likely be our final message directly to you, our state team, we want to again express our sincerest appreciation to each and every one of you for your service to our state and the people of our state. More than six million Missourians are better off thanks to public servants like you having their backs day in and day out.
For us, serving as your Governor and First Lady has been the honor of our lives, and it's in no small part thanks to the exceptional work you do. We hope that you will always take the time to remember the good in your lives and reflect on all that you do in service to our fellow Missourians.
May you and your families have a safe and joyful Christmas and receive many blessings in the coming year. Whether as your Governor and First Lady or as private citizens, we will continue to pray for the safety, health, and happiness of you and your families.
From our family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Governor Mike Parson & First Lady Teresa Parson"
