Gov. Reynolds Signs HF 2653 into Law

Picture
DES MOINES – Today, Gov. Kim Reynolds signed HF 2653 into law, a bill that allows Perry Community School District to use management levy funds to pay for retention bonus payments and affirms the multiple actions taken by the Department of Education to support the Perry Community School District since the tragedy occurred, including the Department’s actions to waive several state reporting, assessment, and other state statutory requirements.

“As the Perry Community School District continues to heal, this legislation will provide students, teachers, and staff with an additional layer of support, allowing them the flexibility they need to care for themselves and each other. We stand with Perry and are committed to doing whatever we can to help the community recover.”
