Governor Whitmer Makes Appointments to Boards and Commissions

LANSING, Mich. -- Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced appointments to the following boards and commissions: Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards; State Waterways Commission; Michigan Apple Committee; Michigan Board of Nursing Home Administrators; Liquor Control Commission; Mackinac Bridge Authority; Michigan Tree Fruit Commission; Workers’ Disability Compensation Agency Funds Administration Board of Trustees; State Building Authority Board of Trustees; Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System Board; Michigan Board of Accountancy; Ski Area Safety Board; Board of Barber Examiners; Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery;  Michigan Board of Social Work;  Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers; Michigan Board of Physical Therapy; Residential Builders’ and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors’ Board; State Plumbing Board; Michigan Board of Massage Therapy; Electrical Administrative Board; Michigan Board of Behavior Analysts; Michigan Board of Acupuncture; Michigan Board of Respiratory Care; Underground Storage Tank Authority Board of Directors; Automobile Theft Prevention Authority Board of Directors; Commission on Community Action and Economic Opportunity; and Child Lead Exposure Elimination Commission.  
 
Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards 
Chiante’ Hamilton, of Kalamazoo, is the executive director of the Society for History and Racial Equity. Hamilton holds a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from Western Michigan University and a diversity, inclusion, equity certification from the University of Southern Florida. Chiante’ Hamilton will be reappointed as a member of the general public for a term commencing January 1, 2027, and expiring December 31, 2030. 
 
The Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) executes its statutory responsibility to promote public safety in Michigan by setting standards for selection, employment, licensing, license revocation, and funding in law enforcement and criminal justice, in both the public and private sectors.   
  
This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
State Waterways Commission 
Deana Jerdee, of Williamsburg, is the executive director of Paddle Antrim. Jerdee is the recipient of the 2021 Verlen Kruger Award and played an integral role in the creation of the Chain of Lakes Water Trail in northern Michigan. Jerdee holds a Bachelor of Science in biology and environmental science from Carroll University. Deana Jerdee will be appointed as a member of the general public for a term commencing September 19, 2026, and expiring September 18, 2029. Jerdee will succeed Craig Lehrke, whose term will expire. 
 
Steve Remias, of Shelby Township, is a member of the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce and was previously the president and chief executive officer of MacRay Harbor. Remias is a member of the Michigan Boating Industry Association Hall of Fame for his work on the state’s Clean Marinas program. Remias holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Wayne State University. Steve Remias will be reappointed as a representative of the marine trades industry for a term commencing September 19, 2026, and expiring September 18, 2029. 
 
The Michigan State Waterways Commission is responsible for the acquisition, construction, and maintenance of recreational harbors, channels, docking and launching facilities, and administration of commercial docks in the Straits of Mackinac.

Michigan Apple Committee 
Gregory Kugel, of Niles, is the chief executive officer of Kugel Farms. Kugel holds a Bachelor of Science in agribusiness management from Michigan State University. Gregory Kugel will be reappointed to represent District 1 for a term commencing April 2, 2026, and expiring April 1, 2029. 
 
James Engelsma, of Grand Rapids, is a location manager at Nutrien Ag Solutions and the president of Engelsma’s Apple Barn. James Engelsma will be appointed to represent District 2 for a term commencing April 2, 2026, and expiring April 1, 2029. Engelsma succeeds Michael Dietrich, whose term will expire. 
 
Eric Roossinck, of Fremont, is the chief executive officer and chief financial officer of Roossinck Fruit Storage and Orchards. Roossinck holds an associate degree in business from Muskegon Community College and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Grand Valley State University. Eric Roossinck is reappointed to represent District 3 for a term commencing April 2, 2026, and expiring April 1, 2029. 
 
The Michigan Apple Committee is dedicated to improving the profitability of Michigan's fresh and processed apple industries. The Committee coordinates market development, educational activities, and research that benefits the 1000 family apple growers in Michigan through improved profitability, ensuring the continued success of this sector of Michigan agriculture.  
 
These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
Michigan Board of Nursing Home Administrators 
Sharon Carlson, of Marquette, is the senior director of nursing at Eastwood Nursing Center. Carlson was previously an administrator at Medilodge of Munising and Bayside Village and is a registered nurse. Carlson holds a licensed practical nursing certificate from Northern Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from New York University. Sharon Carlson will be appointed as a nursing home administrator for a term commencing July 1, 2026, and expiring June 30, 2030. Carlson succeeds Cheryl Bray, whose term will expire. 
 
The Michigan Board of Nursing Home Administrators was created to license nursing home administrators who plan, organize, direct, and control the total operation of nursing homes on behalf of the governing board or owner of a nursing home. The Board promotes and protects the public's health, safety, and welfare by ascertaining minimal entry-level competency of nursing home administrators. 
 
This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
Liquor Control Commission 
Kristin Beltzer, of Grand Rapids, is the current chair of the Liquor Control Commission. Beltzer founded KB Collaborative, a business consulting and public affairs firm, in 2019. Beltzer holds a Bachelor of Arts in communications and public relations from Michigan State University and a Master of Public Administration from Western Michigan University. Kristin Beltzer will be appointed as an Independent for a term commencing June 13, 2026, and expiring June 12, 2030. Beltzer succeeds Dennis Olshove, whose term will have expired. Beltzer will also be re-designated as chair of the commission for a term commencing June 13, 2026, and expiring at the pleasure of the Governor.  
 
Dennis Olshove, of Warren, has served as a Liquor Control commissioner since 2012. Olshove retired in 2010 after serving eight years as a Michigan State Senator, representing much of Macomb County. Previously, he served as Macomb County Commissioner, Michigan State Representative and as an administrative assistant in the office of State Rep. Curtis Hertel. Olshove holds a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Michigan State University. Dennis Olshove will be appointed as a Democrat for a term commencing June 13, 2026, and expiring June 12, 2027. Olshove will succeed Kristen Beltzer, who will have resigned.  
 
The Liquor Control Commission is responsible for being the sole wholesaler for all spirit products in the state and the licensing of the manufacture and sale of all beer, wine, distilled spirits, and mixed spirit drinks in Michigan. They are responsible for the enforcement of the state's liquor laws and the rules of the Commission and the collection of excise and specific taxes on beer, wine, distilled spirits, and mixed spirit drinks.

Mackinac Bridge Authority 
William Milliken, Jr., of Ann Arbor, is the owner of Milliken Realty Co. and a trustee of Washtenaw Community College. Milliken holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Colorado College. William Milliken, Jr., will be reappointed to represent Independents for a term commencing July 1, 2026, and expiring June 30, 2032. 
 
Caroline Cheeseman, of St. Ignace, is the former director of compliance for the First National Bank of St. Ignace. Cheeseman is also the bookkeeper for the Boardwalk Hotel and Boardwalk Coffee, and sits on the boards of the St. Ignace Area Community Foundation and the Mackinac Straits Health System Finance Committee. Cheeseman holds a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Accounting from Northeastern University. Caroline Cheeseman will be reappointed to represent Democrats for a term commencing July 1, 2026, and expiring June 30, 2032. 
 
The Mackinac Bridge Authority is committed to preserve and maintain the State of Michigan's single largest asset and one of the world's leading suspension bridges to provide safe, pleasurable, and expedient passage over the Straits of Mackinac for economic benefit and an improved quality of life. 
 
These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
Michigan Tree Fruit Commission 
Scott Hassle, of Decatur, is a second-generation farmer and partner of Berrybrook Enterprises. Hassle holds an associate’s degree in agribusiness from Michigan State University. Scott Hassle will be reappointed to represent District 2 growers for a term commencing March 2, 2026, and expiring March 1, 2029. 
 
Bruce Veliquette, of Rapid City, is the manager of Cherry Ke Inc, growing 2,500 acres of cherries. Veliquette is a graduate of the University of Northwestern Ohio. Bruce Veliquette will be reappointed to represent District 1 growers for a term commencing March 2, 2026, and expiring March 1, 2029. 
 
Adam Brauer, of Grand Rapids, is a farm manager and chef at Schwallier's Country Basket. Brauer attended Grand Rapids Community College and Central Michigan University. Adam Brauer will be reappointed to represent District 2 growers for a term commencing March 2, 2026, and expiring March 1, 2029.  
 
The Michigan Tree Fruit Commission was created pursuant to the Agricultural Commodities Marketing Act for the purpose of improving the economic position and competitiveness of the Michigan tree fruit industry.    
 
These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
Workers’ Disability Compensation Agency Fund Administration Board of Trustees 
Lee Anne Fontaine, of Kalamazoo, is a managing assistant general counsel at AF Group. Fontaine holds a Bachelor of Arts in multidisciplinary social science from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law. Lee Anne Fontaine will be reappointed to represent the insurance industry for a term commencing May 1, 2026, and expiring April 30, 2030. 
 
The Workers' Disability Compensation Agency Funds Administration Board of Trustees oversees the Funds Administration, which is funded by insurers who write workers' compensation policies in the state of Michigan and employers who self-insure their workers' compensation liability. The Board's assessments cover all benefits paid by the Funds Administration and all administrative and litigation costs. 
 
This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
State Building Authority Board of Trustees
Aaron Pangborn, of East Lansing, is a business manager for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 665. Pangborn attended the IBEW apprenticeship program – Lansing Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee. Aaron Pangborn will be reappointed for a term commencing August 22, 2026, and expiring August 21, 2030.    
 
The State Building Authority was created to acquire, construct, furnish, equip, and renovate buildings and equipment for the use of the state, including public universities and community colleges. The Authority is authorized to issue and sell bonds and notes for acquisition and construction of facilities and state equipment.  
 
This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System Board 
Michelle Dollis-Brady, of Van Buren Township, is the director of pension and benefits for the Michigan Catholic Conference. Dollis-Brady holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration and marketing from Louisiana State University. Michelle Dollis-Brady will be reappointed to represent the general public with experience in actuarial science or health insurance for a term commencing March 31, 2026, and expiring March 30, 2030.    
 
Lance Little, of Owosso, is a legal services manager for the Michigan Education Association and recently retired as a middle school teacher from Owosso Public Schools. Little also serves as chair of the Owosso Historical Commission and as a member of the Shiawassee Airport Board of Directors. Little previously served on the Michigan Education Association Board of Directors. Little holds a Bachelor of Science in education and biology from the University of Michigan and a Master of Arts in educational psychology from Michigan State University. Lance Little will be appointed to represent retired classroom teachers, selected from the membership of the largest organization of retirants, for a term commencing March 31, 2026, and expiring March 30, 2030. Little succeeds James Pearson, whose term has expired. 
 
The Michigan Public School Employees' Retirement System Board is responsible for general oversight of retirement, survivor, and disability benefits to employees in public school districts, intermediate school districts, community colleges and certain universities.    
 
These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the senate. 
 
Michigan Board of Accountancy 
Lara Kessler, of Grand Rapids, is the associate dean of the Seidman College of Business and professor of accounting at Grand Valley State University. Kessler holds a Bachelor of Arts in French from Northern Arizona University, a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt Law School, and a Master of Science in accounting from Grand Valley State University. Lara Kessler will be appointed as a certified public accountant for a term commencing July 1, 2026, and expiring June 30, 2030. Kessler succeeds Paul Balas, whose term will expire.  
 
Carole McNees, of Schoolcraft, is a partner and director of quality management, ethics, and assurance policy at Plante Moran. McNees holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Western Michigan University. Carole McNees will be reappointed to represent certified public accountants for a term commencing July 1, 2026, and expiring June 30, 2030. 
 
The Michigan State Board of Accountancy is responsible for the certification, licensure, and regulation of certified public accountants and public accounting firms in Michigan.  
 
These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
Ski Area Safety Board 
Timothy Lodge, of Traverse City, is the owner of Lodge Engineering Consultants. Lodge has been a PSIA-certified ski instructor for over 35 years. Lodge holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University. Timothy Lodge will be reappointed as a member of the public from the Lower Peninsula with ski experience for a term commencing June 9, 2026, and expiring June 8, 2030. 
 
The Michigan Ski Area Safety Board was created to license and regulate ski areas and ski lifts in Michigan. The Board works with the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to oversee the operation of ski areas, surface and chair lifts, and rope tows.  
 
This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
Board of Barber Examiners 
Ali Alhashemi, of Dearborn Heights, is the owner of Uppercutz Barbershop and UC Barber School. Alhashemi has been a barber and community leader for seventeen years. Ali Alhashemi will be reappointed as a barber for a term commencing October 1, 2026, and expiring September 30, 2030. 
 
The Michigan Board of Barber Examiners was created to regulate the services of barbers, barber students, barber colleges, barber instructors, student instructors, and barbershops in Michigan. The statute defines a barber as a person who shaves or trims the beard of a person; cuts, trims, shampoos, relaxes, curls, permanently waves, dresses, tints, bleaches, colors, arranges, or styles the hair of a person; massages the face and head of a person; or renders personal services of a similar nature customarily done by a barber.  
 
This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery 
Dr. Kathleen Rollinger, of Clinton Township, is a physician at Corewell Health. Dr. Rollinger holds a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Wayne State University and Doctor of Osteopathy from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Kathleen Rollinger will be reappointed as an osteopathic physician for a term commencing January 1, 2027, and expiring December 31, 2030.  
 
Dr. Adam Hunt, of Saginaw, is an emergency physician at Covenant Healthcare. Dr. Hunt holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Michigan, a Master of Health Science from Johns Hopkins University, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University. Dr. Adam Hunt will be appointed as an osteopathic physician for a term commencing January 1, 2027, and expiring December 31, 2030. Hunt succeeds Craig Glines, whose term will expire. 
 
Dr. Scott Carlson, of East Lansing, is an associate professor in the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Carlson holds a Bachelor of Science in biology and zoology and Master of Public Health in epidemiology from the University of Michigan, and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University. Dr. Scott Carlson will be appointed as an osteopathic physician for a term commencing January 1, 2027, and expiring December 31, 2030. Dr. Carlson succeeds Stephen Bell, whose term will expire. 
 
Dr. Khawaja Ikram, of Holt, is the president of Jackson Orthopedic Care and Surgery. Dr. Ikram holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Michigan State University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University. Dr. Khawaja Ikram will be reappointed as an osteopathic physician for a term commencing January 1, 2027, and expiring December 31, 2030. 
 
The Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery regulates the practice of osteopathic medicine and surgery in the State of Michigan; provided for the examination, licensing and registration of osteopathic physicians and surgeons; and provided for the discipline of offenders against the Act. Underlying all duties is the responsibility of the board to promote and protect the public's health, safety, and welfare. This responsibility is implemented by the Board by ascertaining minimal entry level competency of health practitioners and verifying continuing medical education during licensure. The Board also has the obligation to take disciplinary action against licensees who have adversely affected the public's health, safety, and welfare.

Michigan Board of Social Work 
Abigail Allman, of Detroit, is a crisis service professional and client services manager at Washtenaw County Community Mental Health. Allman holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan. Abigail Allman is appointed as an individual engaged primarily in the practice of social work for a term commencing February 26, 2026, and expiring December 31, 2029. Allman succeeds Maxine Thome, whose term has expired.   
 
Dr. Keisha Allen, of West Bloomfield, is the chief executive officer of BFDI International Training Institute. Allen holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication from Wayne State University, a Master of Arts in restorative practices from the International Institute for Restorative Practices, and a Doctor of Ministry from Kingdom University International. Dr. Keisha Allen will be appointed as a member of the public for a term commencing January 1, 2027, and expiring December 31, 2030. Allen will succeed China Sells, whose term will expire.    
 
Jacob Wilson, of Monroe, is the foods program coordinator for the Monroe County Opportunity Program. Jacob Wilson is appointed as a member of the public for a term commencing February 26, 2026, and expiring December 31, 2029. Wilson succeeds Victor Weipert, whose term has expired.   
 
The Michigan Board of Social Work registers social workers in Michigan. Social Work is the professional application of social work values, principles, and techniques to counseling or to helping an individual, family, group, or community to enhance or restore the capacity for social functioning and/or provide, obtain, or improve tangible social and health services. 
 
These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers 
Dr. Edwin Kornoelje, of Grand Rapids, is a physician and Medical Director of Sports Medicine at University of Michigan Health-West. Dr. Kornoelje holds a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from Calvin University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University. Dr. Edwin Kornoelje is appointed as a physician licensed under part 170 or 175 of the Public Health Code for a term commencing February 26, 2026, and expiring June 30, 2029. Dr. Kornoelje succeeds Abdelrahim Asfour, whose term has expired. 
 
The Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers works with the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to oversee the practice of approximately 1,028 athletic trainers. The practice of athletic training, as defined in the Public Health Code, means the treatment of an individual for risk management and injury prevention, the clinical evaluation and assessment of an individual for an injury or illness, the immediate care and treatment of an individual for an injury or illness, and the rehabilitation and reconditioning of an individual's injury or illness.

Michigan Board of Physical Therapy 
Susan Cutshaw, of Ann Arbor, is a retired personal trainer and the former fitness director at Liberty Athletic Club. Cutshaw holds a Bachelor of Science in exercise physiology from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in human nutrition from Eastern Michigan University. Susan Cutshaw is appointed as a member of the general public for a term commencing February 26, 2026, and expiring December 31, 2029. Cutshaw succeeds Sarah Burhans, whose term has expired. 
 
Lauren Wenk, of Commerce Township, is a lecturer in the physical therapy department at The University of Michigan – Flint. Previously, Wenk served as a physical therapist at Corewell Health. Wenk holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Grand Valley State University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from St. Ambrose University. Lauren Wenk is appointed as a physical therapist for a term commencing February 26, 2026, and expiring December 31, 2029. Wenk succeeds Rajiv Amin, whose term has expired. 
 
The Michigan Board of Physical Therapy was originally formed with the enactment of Public Act 164 of 1965. The Public Health Code mandates certain responsibilities and duties for a health professional licensing board. Underlying all duties is the responsibility of the board to promote and protect the public's health, safety, and welfare. This responsibility is implemented by the Board by ascertaining minimal entry level competency of health practitioners. The Board also has the obligation to take disciplinary action against licensees who have adversely affected the public's health, safety, and welfare.

Residential Builders’ and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors’ Board 
Dan Hufnagel, of Fowler, is the chief building official for the DeWitt Charter Township Building Department and a registered code official and inspector. Previously, Hufnagel was a building inspector and a plan reviewer with the Clinton County Building Department. Hufnagel holds an associate degree in applied arts from Lansing Community College. Dan Hufnagel is appointed as a member of the general public as a building inspector for a term commencing February 26, 2026, and expiring March 31, 2028. Hufnagel succeeds Steven Swan, whose term has expired. 
 
Kurt Fedewa, of DeWitt, is the owner of K Fedewa Builders, Inc and a salesperson at EXP Realty of Michigan. Fedewa holds a degree in general studies from Lansing Community College. Kurt Fedewa is appointed as a residential builder for a term commencing February 26, 2026, and expiring on March 31, 2028. Fedewa succeeds James Cowhy, who has resigned.  
 
The Michigan Residential Builders’ and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors’ Board was created to license and regulate persons engaged in the construction of a residential structure or combination residential and commercial structure, or persons who undertake the repair, alteration, addition, subtraction, or improvement of a residential structure or combination residential and commercial structure for compensation other than wages for personal labor.

State Plumbing Board 
Tim Hicks, of Marshall, is a licensed master plumber and the training coordinator at Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 333. Tim Hicks will be reappointed to represent licensed plumbing contractors who hold a master's license for a term commencing July 31, 2026, and expiring July 30, 2029. 
 
Ryan Lyle, of St. Clair, is the director of training for the Metropolitan Detroit Plumbing Industry Training Center. Lyle holds an associate of applied sciences and instructor of the trades certificate from Washtenaw Community College. Ryan Lyle will be reappointed to represent licensed plumbing contractors who hold a master’s license for a term commencing July 31, 2026, and expiring on July 30, 2029.  
 
The State Plumbing Board's duties include making recommendations for plumbing code rules, licensing plumbers, and making all orders, rules, and regulations necessary for the enforcement of the provisions of the act.

Michigan Board of Massage Therapy 
Karen Armstrong, of Farmington Hills, is a manager of integrative medicine and clinical massage at Corewell Health. Armstrong holds a massage therapist license and a certification in massage therapy from Irene's Myomassology Institute. Karen Armstrong is appointed as a massage therapist for a term commencing February 26, 2026, and expiring December 31, 2029. Armstrong succeeds Jessica York, whose term has expired. 
 
The Michigan Board of Massage Therapy was created to regulate the application of a system of structured touch, pressure, movement, and holding to the soft tissue of the human body in which the primary intent is to enhance or restore the health and well-being of the client. The Board of Massage Therapy consists of 11 members: 7 massage therapists and 4 public members. Each member serves 4-year terms. 
 
This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
Electrical Administrative Board 
Chad Jansen, of Manchester, is an electrician and assistant business manager at IBEW Local 665. Previously, Jansen worked as an electrical journeyman at Swan Electrical and FD Hayes Electrical. Jansen holds a certificate in electrical technology from Michigan State University and is a licensed electrical journeyman. Chad Jansen will be reappointed to represent electrical journeymen for a term commencing August 1, 2026, and expiring July 31, 2030. 
 
The Electrical Administrative Board makes recommendations for electrical code rules, grants annual licenses and certificates to qualified applicants, and makes all orders, rules, and regulations necessary for the enforcement and carrying out of the provisions of the act. 
 
This appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
Michigan Board of Behavior Analysts 
Sarah Peterson, of Waterford, is a manager and board-certified behavior analyst at Henry Ford Health. Previously, Peterson worked as a legal assistant with the Warner Law Firm. Peterson holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and certification in behavior analysis from Oakland University, and a Master of Arts in autism spectrum disorders from Eastern Michigan University. Sarah Peterson is appointed to represent behavior analysts engaged in providing clinical services for a term commencing February 26, 202 and expiring December 31, 2028. Peterson succeeds Margaret Moore, who has resigned.   
 
The Michigan Board of Behavior Analysts was created to assist the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs with the regulating and licensing of behavior analysts who utilize applied behavior analysis interventions that are based on scientific research and the direct observation and measurement of behavior and the environment.     
 
This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 
 
Michigan Board of Acupuncture 
Dr. Mark Crapo, of Battle Creek, is the owner of ICare Center for Acupuncture Restoration and Energy. Dr. Crapo holds a degree in sports medicine and physical education from Central Michigan University, a graduate degree in acupuncture, and a and Doctor of Oriental Medicine from California Acupuncture College. Dr. Mark Crapo will be reappointed as an acupuncturist for a term commencing July 1, 2026, and expiring June 30, 2030.     
 
Carlota Almanza-Lumpkin, of Detroit, is an official member and corresponding secretary of the Tuskegee Airmen Incorporated, an Executive Director of the Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Television, Arts, and Sciences, and is a former production manager for WTVS and Detroit Public Television. Almanza-Lumpkin has served as production manager for multiple PBS program series, including “Neal Shine’s Detroit” and “Detroit Black Journal”. Almanza-Lumpkin holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology and biology from the University of Michigan. Carlota Alamanza-Lumpkin will be reappointed as a member of the general public for a term commencing July 1, 2026, and expiring June 30, 2030. 
 
The Michigan Board of Acupuncture works with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to oversee the practice of approximately 89 acupuncturists.  The Board has the obligation to take disciplinary action against registrants who have adversely affected the public's health, safety, and welfare.

Michigan Board of Respiratory Care 
Dr. Ann Flint, of Belmont, is the program director for respiratory care at Grand Valley State University. Flint holds a Bachelor of Science in healthcare education from the University of Michigan, and both a master's degree in occupational education and Doctor of Philosophy in community college leadership from Ferris State University. Dr. Ann Flint will be reappointed as a respiratory therapist for a term commencing January 1, 2027, and expiring December 31, 2030.   
 
Alicia Wafer, of South Lyon, is the director of critical care services at Henry Ford Hospital and a licensed respiratory therapist. Wafer holds an associate degree from Henry Ford Community College, a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Business Administration from Cleary University. Alicia Wafer is appointed as a respiratory therapist, for a term commencing February 26, 2026, and expiring December 31, 2029. Wafer succeeds Kimberly Campbell, whose term has expired.    
 
Kenneth Harker, of Nunica, is a respiratory care supervisor at Corewell Health. Harker holds a Bachelor of Science in respiratory therapy from the University of Cincinnati. Kenneth Harker will be reappointed as a respiratory therapist for a term commencing January 1, 2027, and expiring December 31, 2030.    
 
Andrew Rivera, of Midland, is the regional manager of respiratory care at MyMichigan Health Care. Rivera holds an associate degree in respiratory therapy from Pima Medical Institute, a Bachelor of Science in health sciences from Grand Canyon University, and a Master of Business Administration from Western Governor’s University. Andrew Rivera will be reappointed as a respiratory therapist for a term commencing January 1, 2027, and expiring December 31, 2030.

The Board has a duty to promote and protect the public's health, safety, and welfare. Underground Storage Tank Authority Board of Directors 
Bill Saad, of Grosse Ile, is the president and chief executive officer of Michigan Fuels, Inc. Saad is a member of the Michigan Petroleum Association Board of Directors and has previously served as the Association chairman. Bill Saad will be reappointed as an individual from a statewide motor fuel retail association for a term commencing May 26, 2026, and expiring May 25, 2029.   
 
Juman Doleh-Alomary, of Canton, is the chief information security officer for BorgWarner. Doleh-Alomary holds a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics and a Master of Science in computer engineering both from the University of Michigan. Juman Doleh-Alomary will be reappointed as a member of the general public for a term commencing May 26, 2026, and expiring May 25, 2029. 
 
The Michigan Underground Storage Tank Authority Board of Directors governs the Michigan Underground Storage Tank Authority (MUSTA). The Authority serves Michigan’s petroleum underground storage tank owners and operators, local units of government, and country road commissions by managing the Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund, Legacy Release Program, and Public Highway Cleanup Program on a sound fiscal basis.

Automobile Theft Prevention Authority Board of Directors 
Nicole Quisenberry, of Ortonville, is currently retired after serving as a sergeant for the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department. Quisenberry holds a Bachelor of Science in social work and child psychology from Eastern Michigan University. Nicole Quisenberry will be reappointed as a purchaser of auto insurance in this state for a term commencing July 2, 2026, and expiring July 1, 2030.  
 
The Michigan Automobile Theft Prevention Authority assesses the scope of the problem of motor vehicle theft, analyzes various methods of combating the problem, establishes a plan for providing financial support to combat motor vehicle theft and grants funds for theft prevention teams.

Commission on Community Action and Economic Opportunity 
Gabriela Santiago-Romero, of Detroit, is the Detroit City Council Member for District 6. Santiago-Romero was first elected in 2021 and chairs the Budget, Finance and Audit Standing Committee. Santiago-Romero is vice-chair of the Planning and Economic Committee and was the first Latina to chair a standing committee of the Detroit City Council. Santiago-Romero holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan School of Social Work and a Bachelor of Science in international business from the University of Detroit Mercy. Gabriela Santiago-Romero will be reappointed as an elected public official for a term commencing June 22, 2026, and expiring June 21, 2029. 
 
Lisa Bolen, of East Tawas, is the executive director and chief executive officer of the Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency. Bolen holds a Bachelor of Science in public administration from Michigan State University. Lisa Bolen will be reappointed as a member representing community action agencies for a term commencing June 22, 2026, and expiring June 21, 2029. 
 
The Commission on Community Action and Economic Opportunity was created to provide opportunity for low-income persons to actively participate in the development of policies and programs to reduce poverty and serves as a statewide forum to address the needs and concerns of low-income people in the state of Michigan.

Child Lead Exposure Elimination Commission 
Maggie Kabore, of Milan, is a nurse coordinator at the Washtenaw County Health Department. Kabore holds an associate degree in nursing from Washtenaw Community College and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Eastern Michigan University. Maggie Kabore is reappointed as a member of a local health department for a term commencing February 26, 2026, and expiring December 14, 2029. 
 
The Child Lead Exposure Elimination Commission focuses on implementing the recommendations of the former Child Lead Poisoning Elimination Board and monitoring the state’s efforts to eliminate lead exposure in children. The Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the Governor and department director to coordinate and collaborate with all levels of government and stakeholders regarding programs and policies related to the elimination of child lead exposure.
