does 3 years make it a tradition?
Holiday season, guess it can be called a tradition: Manhattan. Due to busy day job schedule, Christmas Eve was 1st visit this year. Port Authority arrival, 6 p.m. pretty much all holiday markets closed (Bryant Park exception). Walked to Union Square, finally was into holiday / Christmas spirit. Taking a few minutes at Madison Square Park, sat down, remembered what this time of year is about.
I love Christmas Eve / morning in a city like New York. Comparing to the graveyard Lehigh Valley. Places open late, watching traffic / people at 10 a.m., something magical about that city Christmas Eve. Best way I can describe it. Seriously enjoy walking through crowds and traffic of Times Square area. Below 32nd st. it gets quieter, Madison Square Park it was almost a silent night around 7:30 p.m.
If New York City is on your holiday list (1st time or been there), don't just hit main attractions / tourist areas. Honestly, Rockefeller Tree is seriously over-rated. Go below 32nd and into lower / upper Manhattan. Check out the other 4 boroughs. You will find some great experiences / memories.
