July 2, 2024 / Philadelphia, PA: Old City had a chance to seriously show off to tourists. Red, White, Blue and To-Do was definitely worth the trip! Starting with the Pomp & Parade (Constitution Center to Carpenter's Hall) the public was invited to participate.
Wide variety of events highlighted Red, White, Blue and To-Do. Scavenger Hunts throughout Old City and individual places are a great example of the educational side. Carpenter's Hall featured Legos / Betsy Ross House: Carnival Games / Independence Hall Visitor Center? 18th century games. National Liberty Museum Pay What You Wish. $5 donation gave me a chance to experience this wild museum I have walked past several times.
Main aspect I complimented on? It was spread out over Old City. Giving everyone a chance to experience local businesses and historical places they may overlook. Walked past Carpenter's Hall multiple times without realizing what it was. Time got away quick on me. 11 a.m: Not a problem, have the day. 2:30: Wow! Need to pick up the pace! Serious Tip: Figure out what side of Market St. you want to start. Go to far end / work your way to the other side. Don't exactly set a schedule, tried that...
Red, White, Blue and To-Do will be annual. Seriously, this is a great day / event to visit Philadelphia for 4th of July. Highlighting what the holiday is about. No fireworks, a great chance to learn about the history of our country. Please take the kids, several stops have children specific things to do. Wawa Welcome America has dropped from the priority list for a few reasons. Red, White, Blue and To-Do is definitely in the top list! Scroll down for photos / videos.
