Centennial District Scavenger Hunt
May 1 – August 31 | Any time
Fairmount Park Conservancy is excited to announce the return of a multi-month-long, self-guided scavenger hunt through the Centennial District of West Fairmount Park. The scavenger hunt is hosted on the Goosechase app, and anyone can participate at their own pace any time between May 1 and August 31. This is a great way for visitors – and locals – to learn about the Centennial Exposition and the present-day Centennial District. FREE.
 
¡Bailar en FDR! Salsa Class and Social DanceFriday, June 5 | 7 – 11 p.m.
Friday, July 31 | 7 – 11 p.m.
Friday, August 28 | 7 – 11 p.m.
Bailar is back! Now in its sixth season, this popular dance class and social event is open to all levels of salsa experience. Join Fairmount Park Conservancy and DJ Valentin of Dance Philly on the Gateway Plaza in FDR Park and enjoy pay-as-you-go food from Taqueria Morales. FREE.

 
Note: June 5 will be a special Pride edition of ¡Bailar en FDR! Attendees are encouraged to partner with whomever they choose and wear rainbow colors. All are welcome.
 
Yoga in the Park
Sunday, May 31 | 10 – 11 a.m.
Sunday, June 28 | 10 – 11 a.m.
Sunday, July 26 | 10 – 11 a.m.
Sunday, August 30 | 10 – 11 a.m.
Join Fairmount Park Conservancy for an all-level yoga class on the last Sunday of each month. Find a peaceful place in a green space while connecting with practice and meeting other people. Classes are led by Eunmi Chang and Yogi Den. For the June 28 and July 26 dates, there will be a walk beforehand from 9-9:45 a.m. with We Walk PHL and Yogi Den.
 
Trolley Trail Run ClubWednesday, June 3 | 6 – 7:30 p.m. – Did you know? June 3 is Global Running Day!
Wednesday, July 1 | 6:30 – 8 p.m.
Join Fairmount Park Conservancy and community running partners for a 4.5-mile trail run with multiple pace groups along West Fairmount Park’s historic Trolley Trail. This monthly run series is a great opportunity to connect with fellow runners, explore local history, and enjoy a trail that has earned two “Best of Philly” recognitions from Philadelphia Magazine.

Community Paddle Boating at FDR ParkSaturday, June 6 | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Join Fairmount Park Conservancy and Independence Seaport Museum for FREE paddle boating on FDR Park’s Edgewood Lake. While pedaling, use the kid-friendly binoculars provided to spot turtles, ducks, blooming flowers, and maybe even a great blue heron – the long-legged shorebird the boats are built to resemble.

 Second Saturday Guided Hike: Tree TourSaturday, June 13 | 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Take a guided hike through West Fairmount Park and learn about the park’s diverse tree canopy, ecology, and natural history while exploring the trails with park staff and fellow nature lovers. FREE.

Parkside and Centennial District Walking TourSunday, June 14 | 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.Join the Fairmount Park Conservancy and Parkside resident Michael Burch (science educator, community organizer, and founder of the Parkside Journal) for a two-mile walking tour of the Parkside neighborhood. 
Park after Dark: Moonwalk + StargazingTuesday, June 16 | 8 – 10 p.m.
Tuesday, July 21 | 8 – 10 p.m.
Tuesday August 18 | 8 – 10 p.m.
Experience West Fairmount Park after sunset with a guided moonlit hike and telescope observation session led by local astronomy partners. These evening programs offer a chance to slow down, explore the park in a new way, and take in the night sky away from the city streets.

 
Second Saturday Guided Hike: Birdwatching with Troy Bynum
Saturday, July 11 | 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Join Fairmount Park Conservancy and Troy Bynum of TB Wildlife Photography LLC for a two-mile guided birdwatching walk. Hike around multiple spots in West Fairmount Park and observe sanctuaries and feeding grounds for different bird species.

We Walk PHLMay 1 – June 30 | Times vary
We Walk PHL is a free walking group that meets several times per week at various public parks. Launched in 2017, We Walk PHL is a partnership between Fairmount Park Conservancy, Philadelphia Department of Public Health, and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. The We Walk PHL spring 2026 season runs from May 1 through June 30 at 29 locations. FREE.
 
Volunteer to help Philly’s Parks
Fairmount Park Conservancy hosts individual volunteer workdays with opportunities to help with removing invasive species, weeding, trash pick-up, trail maintenance, and more. Sign up to the Conservancy’s email list or visit the volunteer event page for ongoing opportunities to show some love to parks all over the city.
