690 HOURS OF TWG 2022
The archive of The World Games 2022 is now complete. Nearly 620 videos with more than 690 hours of running time and over 15800 photos from the eleventh edition of the Games in Birmingham USA this summer are available through the International World Games Association (IWGA) archive.
Users can access the platform by sending an email to [email protected]. IWGA stakeholders, including the 39 IWGA member federations and the National Olympic Committees/National Sports Organisations of the participating countries and host cities, can use the material of the The World Games 2022 assets free of charge to promote the event. Commercial users have access via a rights agreement to be concluded individually.
From the Birmingham Games the IWGA has archived the complete TV production, produced by host broadcaster ISB based in Madrid. It comprises video images of the decisions in the 34 sports, 58 disciplines and 223 medal events. Also available are the opening and closing ceremonies of the Birmingham Games. In addition, the pictures taken by professional photographers on behalf of the Birmingham Organizing Committee and the IWGA during the eleven days of the Games are available. The search function of the application makes it easy to find the requested assets. It is possible to search by sport, country, date or even by name.
The IWGA archive documents The World Games since the beginning in 1981 in Santa Clara, USA. Nearly 2,000 videos with more than 1150 hours of running time and more than 30,000 photos of the eleven editions of the multisport event are ‘on the shelves’ of the library. The IWGA operates its archive in collaboration with and with the support of the Olympic Channel.
