6abc / dunkin'
2nd year covering the parade, did not disappoint in the slightest. Arriving around 9:15, was told didn't miss much on beginning. Found a great spot just off 22nd and Ben Franklin. Not too far from Art Museum (end point).
Parade had a great balance of all aspects. Floats / bands from other states (noticed Alabama / Ohio) / decorated vehicles and more evenly distributed. Admit it, sometimes you attend a parade where it is mostly bands, people marching / walking and it can boring / repetitive. Definitely not either one here. Temps not too cold, didn't have gloves on and fingers didn't freeze. Colored leaves still on trees added perfect backdrop. Stop points / people joked: traffic jams, were great reasons for performers to give crowd a great show. They did get a little repetitive. Had to kick off article with Eagles Cheerleaders.
More than a parade, Eakins Oval (in front of Art Museum) featured great photo ideas / food / beverages. 6ABC / Dunkin' did another amazing job with entire event. Philadelphia's Thanksgiving Day Parade was 1st in nation (look it up). It is a great way for your family to officially start holiday season. Remember, you will be experiencing an important of American history. After parade, take everyone straight down Ben Franklin Parkway to continue celebration at Love / Dilworth Parks / City Hall Christmas Villages!
