Decided to check this one out for 1 main reason: Samantha Fox! What can I say, grew up in the 80's. As usual, first noticed on social media. Checked out website about 5 weeks before event. Scrolled down list of celebrities. Sorry, basketball stars didn't do it for me, not a sports fan. Also noticed Kourtney Reppert, after one of her social media posts, wanted to meet her.
Autograph City Expo's website had basic information. Just enough to get you interested and answer main questions. Event was just that: purchased tickets (advance / at expo). Walked to room(s) with celebrities you wanted to meet / have autograph or photo. Simple and direct great job on this aspect, very serious. If you didn't / couldn't get tickets in advance, another great part, no price difference on days of expo. Jennifer Esposito example: $75 in advance / $75 in person. If you purchase a Professional Photo Op, there is a set schedule / timeframe for each celebrity.
Was not planning on Ms. Esposito, she starred in one of my favorite Dracula movies (Dracula 2000). Celebrating 52nd birthday, figured what the hell, why not?
Honestly, I thought table photos / autographs would be kind of like assembly line: "Next!" Respected Ms. Fox and Ms. Esposito's time, brief conversation / photo. I did get into a few great conversations with representatives / people selling merchandise.
One aspect that was kind of confusing: Not that many signs for who was in what room. This was also a serious plus side. Rooms were broken down by category (sports / models / tv and movie). It provided a great opportunity to explore and meet / spend some cash on celebrities you may not have known were there. Or become a fan of some new people! Seriously almost dropped cash on 2 Playboy models (had to remember the budget), always next year!
Overall: Autograph City Expo is easily worth it. A few things to keep in mind: Check out website / event in advance / get an idea of how much you will spend. Crowd: arriving around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, varied, give yourself some time to explore / check everything out. Remember, celebrities are people like you and me. Even though you are spending money, be respectful. Autograph City Expo is on the 2024 list for the personal side!!!!
