Big apple comic con
Big Apple Comic Con easily exceeded any expectations. Found out about it on social media. Special thanks to Peter for advance interview / everyone involved for the experience! Covering major comic cons in the past, a few major points impressed me.
Big Apple Comic Con is large enough to be considered a major comic con. Small enough you are not overwhelmed. Or trying to fit multiple days into a few hours. Indie Alley in hall / balcony / next to entry tables. Room with exhibitors / celebrities / indie artists. Larger room with vendors especially if you want to buy comics! 2nd level: balcony to take a break / room with film screenings / room with discussions and cosplay events. Looking where to go? Several signs led the way. Layout done, time for impressive part!
Great balance of different aspects mentioned above. Growing up in the 80's, could not resist photos w/ members of Go-Go's (Gina Schock / drummer and Kathy Valentine / guitarist). Seriously, it was great to meet both and conversations. Sorry for personal highlights. Another main high point: Film Lost Cos (different review). Saturday, even with large crowd, you could still move around / speak with everyone.
Every exhibitor / vendor I spoke with said they did very well. 2 authors said the exposure was excellent. After a few hours on Saturday, Big Apple Comic Con made the list for 2024.
From checking in to final hours on Sunday, Big Apple Comic Con is great for con veterans. New to Comic Cons? This is one event you don't want to miss! Easily worth ticket price. Travelled from Allentown Pa to NYC 2 days. Totals: bus / $151 and Uber $186. Sunday just for Big Apple Comic Con: $236, still happy I spent the money. Sunday: best way to celebrate birthday!
