Committee Republicans led by Chairman Williams and Rep. Alford Visit Small Business Administration and Meet with Administrator Isabella Guzman
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX), Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business, along with Reps. Dan Meuser (R-PA), Maria Salazar (R-FL), Jake Ellzey (R-TX), and Mark Alford (R-MO) visited the Small Business Administration (SBA) and met with Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman.
This visit is a vital part of the Committee’s continued oversight of the SBA, ensuring the agency is a good steward of taxpayer dollars. During the visit, members toured the agency’s headquarters and met with Administrator Guzman regarding the ongoing investigations of the Committee, including COVID-19 lending fraud and burdensome regulations affecting small businesses. Chairman Williams and Rep. Alford released the following statements after concluding today’s visit to the SBA.
“Today’s visit to the SBA marked an important step in the Committee’s oversight efforts to hold the SBA accountable to our nation’s job creators,” said Chairman Williams. “During our meeting with Administrator Guzman, we emphasized the need to hold fraudsters accountable and recoup the hundreds of billions of dollars stolen from the taxpayers through COVID-19 lending programs as well as other issues facing small businesses. Under the Biden administration, small businesses have been saddled with burdensome regulations, making it as difficult as ever to do business. We must ensure the SBA is focused on making life for these entrepreneurs easier.”

“After months of cancelled meetings and Administrator Guzman’s failure to show up before the Small Business Committee, she finally agreed to meet with my colleagues and me,” said Rep. Alford. “Our visit to the Small Business Administration (SBA) proved to be a productive interaction.
