iCu Network
September 16 show felt like kind of a warm-up for main events on Sunday. Honestly, for FireCity, it was the main event. The Dean was a great venue for it. A little small, local, street level. Speaking with a few people, they agreed. One thing I learned about NYFW in 5 fashion shows (February / September): Each one is different / unique. Have not covered major (celebrity filled / lights / raised stage / you get the point) shows. Smaller, more localized shows have an extra edge, iCu at The Dean definitely fits this important category.
Important Note: Photos are in reverse order (end to start).
A main focus of iCu is connecting people and creating mutually beneficial relationships. This was easily present at the show. Kicking it off with a networking segment. Announcements to encourage conversations. "Look at the person next to you and say ICU." Fashion show overall proved this point.
Another main aspect (other than designers / fashion / models): Appreciation for photographers / press. Making sure everyone had the spot needed to get shots they wanted. Now for the fashion part (most important!).
Presenting 2 designers who were almost polar opposite. Charly: Swimwear / casual / street / male and female. S'Vailon: formal / females / revealing in a more exotic way. Contrast between designers seriously highlighted both / easily maintained focus on each creation.
What aspects did I love the most? Venue: smaller / local / intimate easily connected every part of this event. Including contrast between designers. Fashion: Almost polar opposite / unique creations surprised / maintained focus on individual models.

Charly Magazine
Surprising with a different definition of fashion. Charly incorporates body painting / art. Going pure street / casual with the clothes. Not being afraid to push limits with combinations. At times, taking the "less is more" to new limits. Barely there bikinis (male / female) highlights more of the art and body. Combined with street (tops / pants), Charly proved imagination / creativity are the only limits in what is considered fashion. Even challenging us to explore / try new limits with what we wear / consider fashion.
s'vailon
Formal / more upscale / slightly erotic with exotic edge. Best ways to describe to S'Vailon's creations. Check photo with all models on the street. He reinvents some more traditional categories (dress / bodysuit) while creating a new level simultaneously. A high compliment to S'Vailon: some of his creations I was thinking "My belated wife would have loved wearing that." Most of his designs make any woman proud to show off their body. Not in a slutty way, in a way they will be proud of physical appearance. I am taking about ANY woman regardless of size / shape.
