lost cos
Lost Cos was a main highlight for me / Big Apple Comic Con NYC. Was expecting a sci-fi epic, did zero research in advance. Lost Cos was something completely different in every way possible.
Taking us on an incredible and very real journey into the world of CosPlay. Imaginative to say the very least. Lost Cos has so many aspects, trying to figure out where to start.
Initially walked in 20 minutes into the movie, really didn't matter. After about 5 minutes, almost bailed, glad I didn't. Combination of beyond excellent storyline / acting is an overall highlight. A few weeks later, several scenes are still fresh in the memory.
Ever play Mortal Kombat or seen the movie (original)? One scene played right out of it. The movie can be a little confusing at times. Cut scenes combine with animation and comic book panels force you to seriously pay attention. WHEN, not if, you check out the movie: Food truck scenes are a hilarious break. Title actually refers to something in the movie, to a point, movie overall.
Lost Cos highlights all sides of Cosplay world / lifestyle. It is so much more than dressing up as your favorite superhero / villain. Another favorite part of the movie. Not being afraid to show a darker, very realistic side.
What started out as high hopes for a sci-fi movie, turned into deep respect for a lifestyle choice. Thinking about the movie a few weeks later, it still affects me on a deeper level. Showing raw emotion / real reasons for actions and so much more. I can't recommend Lost Cos high enough. Suggestion: watch it twice and with an open mind.
