Usual routine: In NYC / quick check Rockwood Music Hall lineup. Lucie Benrnheim caught my attention. Always support indie music / musicians. Especially original music in NYC / Philadelphia!
Overall: Lucie's show was something a little different. More like a "Behind the Scenes". Lucy was relaxed and natural during entire performance. By natural I mean nothing scripted. Tuning guitars / talking and joking with crowd / providing background on songs. I could picture being in a recording studio watching Lucie work on a single. Other moments: She provided a more intimate, almost song creation feel. Excellent compliments on this part.
Her music: Song I remember the most? City Kids. One of her songs people could relate to. Thinking / remembering their lives / experiences. Lucie Has a way of taking everything down to a personal level. City Kids was one song that seriously showed her true love of music. Noticed her expression while playing piano, appeared completely absorbed in the song. The crowd / venue / city did not exist or matter. This part is something lost / forgotten by a lot of musicians. True love / feel for music / performing.
