Peaceful march representing people who could not be with family
December 30, 2023 / Union Square / NYC:
Union Square is always one of my favorite stops in the city. Observed a quiet / peaceful march happening. Looked at one of the signs. These people were reminding us of hostages held by Hamas as a result of Israel / Palestine war and Hamas attack on Israel which started the war. Each sign had a photo / represented an individual.
Unlike the spoiled children of Pro-Palestine protests. I did walk right into one Halloween weekend 2023. Check archives for video / photos / editorial. These people were silent, no megaphones / chanting / shouting. No vandalism / disruption of people's live or events. Marching on sidewalks vs. streets / holding up traffic.
These people chose a stronger / more powerful / direct way of having their message known. Every person seriously gained my respect and attention. I heard someone trying to get interviews. The way he was doing it, made me realize this person was nothing but an annoying prick. Even getting on my nerves. I observed marchers ignoring him, could not fault them in the slightest.
From experience, most Pro-Palestine protesters / rallies are nothing but a bunch of fucking cowards. A majority of those people have nothing better to do with their time and don't believe in the words. They are attention starved little children who need to grow up. They refuse to make any attempt at changing anything (example: protests in front of the U.N building vs. Rockefeller during holidays).
Using photos / names / looking in marchers' eyes / not making a huge spectacle. Combined to have a very effective impact. Reminding us of what is truly important, especially during the holiday season. Unlike the very disruptive Pro-Palestine movement, this march also showed respect for NYPD.
I observed 2 officers at the end. They gave zero indication of problems. Marchers having the attitude NYPD officers have a great responsibility and entire city to keep safe.
