The hit reggae song ‘Bam Bam’ is considered an anthem of the genre and one of the most sampled reggae vocals of all time. The woman behind the voice, Jamaican dancehall legend Sister Nancy, was deceived for decades and denied the royalties that were rightfully hers. Despite the challenges in her path, she persevered and today is an in-demand artist, touring the world and spreading joy through her music to sold-out crowds.
In Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story award-winning filmmaker Alison Duke (Black Community Mixtapes) mixes dynamic tour performances, insightful interviews with industry figures like Janelle Monae, Young Guru, and Pete Rock, along with archival footage of the early dancehall scene, to create a comprehensive portrait of Sister Nancy's enduring prominence in reggae and hip hop. Her music transcends boundaries, resonating with diverse audiences around the globe, from reggae and hip-hop enthusiasts to gamers and music lovers.
Entertaining and empowering, Sister Nancy’s story proves that great music oversteps obstacles and that staying true to oneself is the key to success - both in the music industry and in life.

In the remote mountain villages of Bamyan, Afghanistan, a ski race like no other draws young athletes from rival ethnic groups who showcase their incredible resilience and skill on the hill. Guided by the determined ski coach, Alishah Farhang, equipped with minimal gear, makeshift skis, and no chair lift, the race is a moment for celebration and camaraderie. However, when their country falls to the Taliban, many of the athletes are displaced across the globe as refugees, confronted with an uncertain future.
In "Champions of the Golden Valley," filmmaker Ben Sturgulewski masterfully captures the exhilaration of athletic rivalry intertwined with the poignant narrative of a community grappling with profound change, revealing what it means to be a champion, in all its forms.
