Procession of Saints
Covered South 9th St. Italian Market Festival in Surreal ValeCity. Procession of Saints top priority for the day. Born / raised St. Peter's Church in Coplay, still remember some of the saints. Arriving a little early, checked out the statues. Very high level of detail with some signs of aging. Perfect combination symbolic of survival through the ages. Comment I picked up from someone in the parade: "We used to have to carry statues." Easy to tell statue platforms were designed for that. I am a huge fan of "Work Smarter Not Harder." Statues were paraded on moving carts. Seriously, can you blame anyone?
This may sound strange: God / Nature / Whatever you believe in, provided perfect weather for Procession / Festival Sunday. Temps in 70's / Sunny / Clouds / Low Humidity.
Saints / band only part of parade. 1st communion / confirmation candidates / parishioners provided a local / more personal side. Stage at 9th + Washington spot for blessing / kicking the day off. Huge crowd gathered to watch Procession arrive. Security had to make a few announcements to make space. Don't worry, everyone was calm and just enjoying the event. Special thanks to Philadelphia Police / Security for doing a great job blocking roads.
