Raw Artists
Very Special Thanks to Hazel / everyone involved with Raw Artists Philadelphia. Velvet Rouge (fav band) is how I found out about InspiHERed. How do I even start this one?
Right off, please scroll down for ALL photos / videos / walkthrough / video review. Checking out event information, all indie artists of various genres / styles / disciplines. FireCity Illusion always supports other indie creators. Website / event information did not even come close to preparing me for experience.
InspirHERed was something I have not experienced in a very long. On short list of something desperately needed. Every aspect, including location (Concourse Dance Bar), lived up to the Raw Artists title. Pure street level, literal underground bar / club, created perfect setting.
Artists having true passion / intensity / creating from personal experience. Spoken word / poetry at times challenging numbing effects of modern society. Performed with true raw emotion that could only come from depths of the soul / spirit. Live music / stage performances showing everyone a new definition of genres. Dance studios / dancers straight out of Step Up series (All In fav). Watching them, it appeared crowd did not exist. Dancers achieved that higher level of becoming one with the dance.
I want to seriously highlight the fashion show. Covered 2 events / New York Fashion Week (still know nothing about the industry). Focused on models more than clothes. Models at InspirHERed showed a true attitude / style walking the runway. Giving true life to designs they were wearing. Vs. the almost robotic movements / expressions of most models in fashion shows. Before you think it, realize this is common / requirement for fashion models (future article). Models at InspirHERed were proud / loved designs and creations they were showing off.
Going into InspirHERed thought it would be something similar to events covered in Surreal ValeCity / A Valley and Beyond (ancestors to FireCity). Between the 3, only 2 other events even came close. Leaving InspirHEREd: reminded of what FireCity is about (attitude / fire / street level). It is easy to forget and sometimes get lost in our modern society / world (mainstream media / politics / etc). We become numb / immune to what is right in front of us. InspirHERed is an event that wakes us up. Reminds us of who we are. What we are capable of.
