Rittenhouse square
Definitely had to include Rittenhouse Square (especially the tree) in this holiday edition. Early December, tree was not in place yet. New Year's Eve had some time in day / evening. The Square was actually 1st stop after I arrived.
Love Rittenhouse Square any time of the year. What I call the "social square" of the 4 (Logan: summer / cool down. Washington: historical. Franklin: family). Normally, a lot of people here. Socializing / taking dogs for walks / reading. You get the point. Due to rain, park quiet during day / evening.
Rittenhouse Square is beautiful during holiday season. The tree is very special. Decorated only half-way up. Visitors can hang ornaments on the tree. I watched two ladies placing one New Year's Eve. Have not experienced a public tree like this one. Downtown Philadelphia is my fav (personal / professional) during holiday season. There is so much to do / see within walking distance of city hall (1 - 2 miles tops). Definitely bring the family / make sure to experience this special tree!
