This one seriously caught my attention: Bats**t Crazy film block. Quick scan of some press releases / synopsis, need to review a few. Reviews are like films: shorts! Reviews were highlights for me. Every film fit perfectly into the category. With drama / sci-fi / fantasy / horror / a lot of great comedy (not even a huge fan of genre), Bats**t Crazy was a great film block to watch and lose track of time...
Daddy Issues: Male domatrix / male client what could go wrong??? Client is the father. In an obscenely strange situation (forgive the phrasing), both sides have a typical father / son conversation. With father commenting about son's life choices. BTW: Father is handcuffed. Head Mistress shows up time to fake it! Daddy Issues is one of those rare films that had me cracking up, especially when the hood was pulled off the father.
They Grow Up So Fast: From the male viewpoint, this one will make you re-think a 1 night stand. Guy meets girl / sex (not shown) / fast forward to them in a relationship with woman pregnant. Fast forward to baby / child / teenager / son grown up with grandchild. I mean literally fast forward. The movie skips the everyday / ordinary parts of a relationship highlighting main points. Best part: everyone is moving at ultra speed except for the original guy. Apparently somehow, he missed the "warp speed" portal. Honestly, while showing a relationship from beginning to 2 generations later; this movie is pure comedy. From a true-life standpoint, loved it!!!!!
Somewhere in Between: 2 friends (female / male) spend New Year's Eve together. Keeping it simple, staying at home. Time traveler appears informing both if they don't get together time continuum will be destroyed. Female broke up with boyfriend previous year as ball was dropping. She wanted current year to be simple. So much for that idea! Trapped in time machine both admit feelings for each other. Hint: well-planned illusion backfires. But, it is strange how life's plans can mirror our words. Do they get together? Watch the film and find out. This movie has a very high believability factor from start to finish. Even when the sci-fi factor faded, did not take my eyes / attention away for a split second. Another one to add to your must watch list!!!!!
