squirrels from Hell
No video review on this one. Due to very tight timeframe on this NYC trip. When I am around Bowery, make time to stop by Rockwood Music Hall. Checked lineup / Ok... Squirrels from Hell. Name alone had to check them out!
Honestly, expecting a young / metal / thrash band. Very surprised to see musicians who were around during now classic rock era (70's / 80's). Think it is still "classic" rock.
Squirrels from Hell, how to describe...
Think B52's / Bob Seger / a little Rocky Horror mixed in. B52's: a band that kind of defines / creates a new sub-genre. Bob Seger: One song made me think of his style / storytelling / music. Rocky Horror: 30 seconds into another song, immediately made me think of the movie. Seriously, don't ask, might never figure this one out.
Lyrics were hard to understand at times due to technical glitches.
On a beautiful spring day, Squirrels from Hell was an excellent way and break from art exhibits. Like I told my dad: Great art / music / beautiful weather / NYC = perfect day! Need to find out about the "The band New York City couldn't kill".
