philadelphia st. patrick's day parade
1st year @ this parade. Honestly, I am part Irish (red hair as a kid / luck? skipped this generation). 13th and Market looked like a good spot. Sound of bagpipes announcing parade start even before they turned onto Market. Theme "Let There Be Peace" was perfect for our society / world.
Everything you would expect from a St. Patrick's Day Parade: Irish dancing / music / a lot of bagpipes / more green than an Eagles home game! Yes, it is possible... Great conversation with a cameraman / reporter from Fox News. Temps in 40's prevented fingers from freezing (multi-task between Cannon / phone).
Main highlight: Officers stopping / bagpipes playing TAPS and funeral song to honor fallen officers.
Overall, clocking in at 2 hours 40 minutes, longest continuous parade I have been to. Time was from 13th and Market. Great parade and definitely worth attending! Was a little surprised all Philadelphia sports teams were not represented. One car with Eagles, 76ers / Flyers / Phillies didn't see. Honestly, did get a little boring at times. Long segments with various groups marching. Believe me, understand logistics / cost of organizing an event on this scale. Scroll down and check out all photos / videos (reverse order).
