The night doctrine / 2023 tribeca film festival
The Night Doctrine: This film is a DEFINITE MUST SEE / EXPERIENCE!!!!! One of the best films / movies I have experienced. Listening to it as I am typing this review. The courage of Lynsy (U.K. reporter / journalist / Afghan native whose sister / mother were killed in a night raid during Afghan War) is almost beyond comprehension. Telling her story, challenging U.S. political leaders / military. Showing, through personal experience (night raid), the other side a war the United States is involved with. Through wrong intelligence, civilians were killed. How the United States abandoned Afghans who helped their side in the war.
Animation: Every scene added to the story. Every scene portrayed the raw emotion of each character and overall story. Animation is mixed with actual news clips / audio.
Even listening to it a second, this film brings out several emotions. Deep sadness for Lynsy. Anger against our military / political leaders for the murder of innocent men / women / children. How they faced no consequences for their actions / choices. Purest form of respect / admiration for Lynsy and the raw courage she has. The film almost brought tears to my eyes. In 52 years, I can't remember a film / movie having this effect on me.
Towards the end: Lynsy asks a very important question: "I wonder why the U.S. has never been held accountable for the damage they leave behind."
