Tribeca festival 2024
Tribeca is much more than a film festival. Yes, that is still the primary focus with an incredible variety of genres / films. Looking for a break from films? Games / Immersive / Music / Audio Storytelling highlight true variety of the festival. Fan of Robert DiNiro? DiNro Con kicks off this year!
Scrolling down the Full Schedule of films, 2024 promises to have at least 1 film regardless of favorite genre / what you love. If attending in-person, highlighting different theaters in New York City (I walk by the AMC almost every trip). Lifelong fan of Science Fiction, She Loved Blossoms More promises to be a main highlight! Trust me, it may be difficult to figure out your festival schedule, even if you favorite films. You might want to add-on the Virtual part or go strictly with that aspect. Main benefit: you can rewatch / pause the film.
Checking out genres: Tribeca goes beyond the basics (drama / documentary / horror / etc.) to include a few, select demographics. LGBTQIA+ / Black & African Diaspora Stories are 2 I noticed repeatedly. While other nationalities / skin colors / straight were not listed. Honestly, when experiencing / reviewing a film, I really don't care about this part. The film either earned a great review or it didn't. I was surprised certain demographics were included / highlighted while others were not. This part I seriously debated including. Decision was made due to what is on website and to remain unbiased.
Overall, 2024 lives up to media releases / hype. Main question: Is it worth your hard-earned money? Yes. An 8 Ticket package is $245 (including $20 fee), I realize this may be a little steep especially with cost of living now. Experiencing 8 films in different theaters make it a justified expense. Plus, it could be a great reason / excuse for mini vacation. Check out the website and find out how it is much more than a film festival.
