winter village at bryant park
Video: You are watching people ice skating in 85-degree real feel. Not joking, checked phone right before recording. It's NYC, why not??? Thought last year was unique (same only 70 degrees).
Winter Village / Bryant Park is always included in Holiday Edition. Honestly, part of personal holiday traditions.
Tip: Weekends are packed and crazy. You have been warned. Aisles are tight due to amount of glass huts for vendors. Arrive early or weekdays if possible. Get ready to spend at least 1 hour here due to amount of vendors / food / plans for ice skating. Will get to ice skating part in a few...
2nd tip: Winter Village / Bryant Park is pretty much a 1 stop, majority of holiday shopping done place. Need holiday ornaments including personalized? Done! 2022 purchased a few. Unique gifts? Like a holiday village in any major city, Done! Clothes / pets / art / food? Done! Finite! You got it! I did over 1/2 holiday shopping year in 2022, not joking. Have a few ideas already.
Ice Skating: Winter Village / Bryant Park is the largest, free admission rink in NYC. Obvious: you have to pay for skates.
Food / beverage: Already stopped by one of my favs: Pie shop. Wasn't hungry enough for a bratwurst... One side is part food court, other part: ice skating rink. Hope you are hungry! Wide variety of food / beverage vendors have you covered for almost anything you are in the mood for. Middle (rink) features alcoholic beverages so adults can take a break. Prices: not over the top. It is a winter / holiday village. Expect to spend a few bucks to support these excellent small businesses!!!!
Overall: Like I said, Winter Village / Bryant Park is part of personal / professional holiday tradition. It has earned that spot. 2022, decided to do NYC overnight Christmas Eve. 1st time in the city on that night. 3-degree wind chill kept me in the room for a few hours. Around 7, needed food. Bundled up, headed to Bryant Park. A lot of people celebrating the holiday. Ice skating / last minute shopping (literally) / eating. Waited over 3 minutes for hot chocolate. Planning on a repeat this year (hopefully a little warmer). Winter Village / Bryant Park will be a definite stop Christmas Eve. Final note: A great place to stop Christmas Day! Several vendors were open / ice skating!
